Call for Artworks for the Bird 2025<\/em> Exhibition<\/strong><\/p>\n

In the autumn-winter of 2025-26, the Johannes Larsen Museum in Kerteminde will host a major exhibition featuring bird-themed artworks. We therefore invite artists to submit works depicting birds for the exhibition. For more information about the exhibition, please read further details here<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Requirements for Artworks<\/h3>\n
    \n
  • The work must feature birds as the central motif or be otherwise related to birds.<\/li>\n
  • The work must be “new” and created no earlier than 2022.<\/li>\n
  • Artworks in all artistic forms are welcome.<\/li>\n
  • The work must be available for loan from May 1, 2025, to January 2026.<\/li>\n
  • The work must be “exhibition-ready” (e.g., necessary framing must be completed).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    Completion of the Form – Required Information and Materials<\/h3>\n

    Digital material of up to 5 artworks per artist can be submitted for jury review by completing the form. (Form must be filled out individually per art piece.)<\/p>\n

    Required Information and Materials for Submission<\/strong><\/p>\n

      \n
    • Title of the artwork<\/li>\n
    • Name(s) of the artist(s)<\/li>\n
    • Information about the artwork (materials, etc.)<\/li>\n
    • Dimensions of the artwork (height, width, depth)<\/li>\n
    • Insurance value<\/li>\n
    • Photo of the artwork (up to 2 possible images per artwork)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      Selected artworks will be displayed at the Johannes Larsen Museum from September 13, 2025, to January 11, 2026.<\/p>\n

      Process<\/h3>\n
        \n
      1. Submission<\/strong>: Complete the form to submit artworks for consideration in the exhibition. The form must be filled out for each individual artwork. Artists may submit up to 5 works.<\/li>\n
      2. Curating 1<\/strong>: Based on the submitted images, the jury will conduct the first round of curation.<\/li>\n
      3. Submission of Physical Works<\/strong>: Selected artworks must be submitted for the second round of curation at \u00d8stfyns Museums in May 2025.<\/li>\n
      4. Curating 2<\/strong>: In the second round, the jury will inspect the artworks in person and make the final selection for the exhibition.<\/li>\n
      5. Exhibition Catalogue<\/strong>: Each selected artist will be represented by one artwork and contact details in the exhibition catalogue.<\/li>\n
      6. Exhibition Opening<\/strong>: The exhibition will open on September 12, 2025, at 16:00.<\/li>\n
      7. Closing Celebration<\/strong>: On the final day of the exhibition, all participating artists will be invited to a celebration. Artworks from the exhibition will be collected at this event.<\/li>\n
      8. Honorarium<\/strong>: Artists based in Denmark will receive an exhibition fee following the conclusion of the exhibition.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
