The Art of Setting a Table
Continuing a cherished tradition, the Johannes Larsen Museum in Kerteminde invites visitors to its annual Christmas table exhibition this November. The festive displays, featured in Samlingen and Vingen, built upon a legacy rooted in the time of Alhed and Johannes Larsen, when an elegantly set table symbolized warmth, hospitality, and artistry.
This year’s exhibition showcases the creative interpretations of the following distinguished contributors:
Bente Scavenius
A renowned art historian, critic, and author, Bente Scavenius is widely recognized as a judge on Danmarks Bedste Portrætmaler and for her insightful participation in Kunstquizzen. She is also part of the cultured trio featured in DR’s celebrated cultural program, Verdensdamerne.

An acclaimed knitwear designer and artist based in Kerteminde, Iben Høj has earned numerous accolades throughout her career. Her work spans collaborations with major international brands and representation in both Danish and global museums. She also participated in the 2023 exhibition Kæde at the Johannes Larsen Museum.
Tine Gertzen
Photographer and owner of the French vintage and brocante shop Ville Kulla in Kerteminde, Tine Gertzen has contributed to the lifestyle magazine Jeanne d’Arc Living and created photo features for the popular TV series Han, hun og drømmeslottet.
Line Nørgaard
A talented fashion and jewelry designer, Line Nørgaard operates her own goldsmith workshop and boutique atelier.
Erland Porsmose
A historian, author, and former director of the East Funen Museums, Erland Porsmose is celebrated for his publications on the Funen Painters. His table will draw inspiration from the art and works of this distinguished group.
