Call for Artworks for the Bird 2025 Exhibition
In the autumn-winter of 2025-26, the Johannes Larsen Museum in Kerteminde will host a major exhibition featuring bird-themed artworks. We therefore invite artists to submit works depicting birds for the exhibition. For more information about the exhibition, please read further details here

Requirements for Artworks
- The work must feature birds as the central motif or be otherwise related to birds.
- The work must be “new” and created no earlier than 2022.
- Artworks in all artistic forms are welcome.
- The work must be available for loan from May 1, 2025, to January 2026.
- The work must be “exhibition-ready” (e.g., necessary framing must be completed).
Completion of the Form – Required Information and Materials
Digital material of up to 5 artworks per artist can be submitted for jury review by completing the form. (Form must be filled out individually per art piece.)

Required Information and Materials for Submission
- Title of the artwork
- Name(s) of the artist(s)
- Information about the artwork (materials, etc.)
- Dimensions of the artwork (height, width, depth)
- Insurance value
- Photo of the artwork (up to 2 possible images per artwork)
Selected artworks will be displayed at the Johannes Larsen Museum from September 13, 2025, to January 11, 2026.
Process
- Submission: Complete the form to submit artworks for consideration in the exhibition. The form must be filled out for each individual artwork. Artists may submit up to 5 works.
- Curating 1: Based on the submitted images, the jury will conduct the first round of curation.
- Submission of Physical Works: Selected artworks must be submitted for the second round of curation at Østfyns Museums in May 2025.
- Curating 2: In the second round, the jury will inspect the artworks in person and make the final selection for the exhibition.
- Exhibition Catalogue: Each selected artist will be represented by one artwork and contact details in the exhibition catalogue.
- Exhibition Opening: The exhibition will open on September 12, 2025, at 16:00.
- Closing Celebration: On the final day of the exhibition, all participating artists will be invited to a celebration. Artworks from the exhibition will be collected at this event.
- Honorarium: Artists based in Denmark will receive an exhibition fee following the conclusion of the exhibition.
